When we gather to worship God, even when we do it in our own homes, these locations are temporarily transformed into the “heavenly Jerusalem” (Heb. 12:22-24). No matter where we are, we can worship Him. We can meet with God in particular places to engage in worship, to pray, listen to God’s word, and sing Him praise.
Gathered worship is a critical part of our Christian walk with Christ, but our whole lives should be a manifestation of praise to the Lord and should reflect our worship lifestyle. We can worship Him “in His sanctuary” and in “His mighty heavens”. Our faith made it possible for us to sit with Him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Eph. 2:6, Col 3:1)
As believers who have been redeemed, we cannot bring offerings to a worship service only occasionally. We are the offerings (Rom. 12:1); therefore, our lives must resemble Christ (1 Cor. 6:19-20). We cannot be passive in our worship. Everything we do must be “to the glory of God as an act of worship to His name (1Cor. 10:31). This must apply to our daily activities in every aspect of our lives. We are to do everything for the glory of God and “in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Col. 3:17).
We are to worship God with our whole lives. Our daily prayer should be “Lord, fill my life in every part with praise. Let my whole being proclaim your way. Not only my lips or my praising heart. I pray that my life is made of praise to your name in everything I do”.
